Holiday Season...When did THAT happen?

I know it's been a while since we last filled our readers in on what has been happening at the Farm, but let me tell you now... it has been crazy. Getting pie orders together and making spreadsheets galore! It seems like Kozlowski Farms staff was just talking about our Halloween plans & children's costumes, blinked and next week is Thanksgiving. We have all been silently preparing for the organized chaos that runs through the farm, between November & ends just before Christmas... but I think we all slightly forget exactly how much needs to be accomplished to ensure our customers get great service & even better pies! I will endeavor to keep my updates more consistent, but in the mean time here is a sneak peak into the decorating we have been up to in the store.

Finally settling in..

After almost four months of being "moved" into our new store, we are finally settling into our surroundings. The store is coming together, decorations are going up, antiques are being found & we all fell right at home. It is amazing to see what a difference a new building can do for attitudes of workers and customers!! There is no more bumping elbows in the store while shopping, you can barely hear across the store!! As we all think back to how long of a process it was to finally get here, we are all thankful for this wonderful transformation. Especially that things are winding down just in time for the busy holiday season. If you would like to come and "Visit the Farm" please swing by, we would love to see you!! 5566 Hwy 116 N in Forestville Ca 94536.

Apples, Apples and more APPLES!!

When most people think of Sonoma County the only thing that comes to mind is wine grapes. And really, they are not wrong. With the wine business booming and only continuing to grow, it is natural path of mind. But what many non-locals DON'T know is that Sonoma County, especially Sebastopol, CA is renown for apples! We are one of the few farms left that harvest the Gravenstein apples, which our Highway is named after. These apples are slightly tart, crisp and perfect for baking. Having a season lasting from the end of July to early September, many folks miss out on these prized apples. However disappointing that it is now October, don't fret!! Today at Kozlowski Farms we finished harvesting our Rome Beauty Apples!! These may be different from the Gravs, but just as delicious!! They are a gorgeous red with slight yellow, crisp and so sweet.

October Hauntings!!

October does not solely mean decorating and thinking about Halloween costumes, at Kozlowski Farms it means the commencement of harvest and the beginning of the bustle of the holiday season. The smells of Pumpkin and Pecan pies are drawing closer & with the bakery production on the other side of the store, all of us can't wait! The men are busy setting our two new butters into production so they will be available for your holiday table, and the gals in the store are gearing up for all of your gift wrap needs! The holidays will be here before you know it, so why not get one step ahead and reserve your fresh pies today?? https://www.kozlowskifarms.com/

Sonoma County Crush Weekend

As many Sonoma County locals know, crush weekend is here again & that is a BIG step in the wine production process. It not only is the breaking of the grape skin to release the juice... but it is a large tourist attraction, bringing people from all around the country to wineries. There are attractions, tasting and some locations even let you "Stomp" grapes to get the full experience of how far production techniques have come. Whatever you choose to do this weekend, keep in mind the hard work of the wine makers & staff.. And celebrate them with your favorite glass! Cheers!!

How Time Flies...

With harvest over half way done, it has been a busy couple of weeks at Kozlowski Farms. Early mornings picking grapes to late afternoons wrapping up the other aspects of K.F. we all can't wait to catch up on our beauty rest! Thankfully this Saturday is forecast to rain, which means sleeping in, comfortably staying inside with a blanket & movies and good food! The cold weather means hot & filling food. With being so close to Bodega Bay, Cioppino sounds like the way to go. It can't get any easier than a one pot meal where we make a fabulous sauce for you! All you'll have to do is get the wine & baguette!! Happy Friday from the Kozlowski Farms Family!

September.....Already?!?

I don't know about everyone else, but it feels like August FLEW by!! School has started and Labor Day bbq's are gone. With the heat leaving and the cold front on its way, it seems the year is almost gone. We have moved buildings, created new products and slowly settled in. If you haven't seen our new store, come swing by. It is nice to have a look around & feel like time has stopped in a whirlwind of a day!
